Who - We are students in Mr. Cunliffe's grade 5/6 classroom at Canyon Heights Elementary School in North Vancouver, British Columbia Canada.
What - We are playing a trading game in order to help families affected by the fire in the community of Fort McMurray. We are hoping that you will play with us ;-)
How - Our goal is to 'trade up' from a 10 cent eraser as many times as we can until the end of the school year. Whatever we wind up trading for at the end of the school year will either be donated to a family in Fort McMurray or sold with the proceeds going to assist the Canadian Red Cross with their rebuilding efforts.
When - on the last day of school on June 30th, we will take whatever we were able to trade for and either give it to a family in Fort McMurray that could use some help or we will sell the item we traded for and donate the money to the Canadian Red Cross.
Why - Mr. C believes that everybody [especially kids] has the power AND responsibility to make a positive difference in the world and the lives of others. This is an opportunity for our class to learn about goal setting, project planning, global citizenship, and how every kid has the power and ability to make a positive contribution in the world.
